Was recommended to me by a colleague. It was £1.69 in Witney co-op so thought I’d give it a try.

The label and bottle looks very sophisticated. Opened and poured nicely. Golden in colour and very slight head.

First taste, blurgh! Taste like burnt ashtray. Horrid. Second mouthful, a bit like burnt treacle. Since then, tastes okay. The ashtray taste has gone thank god. But there is a very bitter burnt sweetness. Like caramelised sugar.

I reckon after a pint it would be lovely but it’s tough to get past the first ‘kick’.

Think there’s some lemon in there. Actually, it’s evolving into a bit drop. Think I should drink another just make sure. Unfortunately I don’t have one.
